While I am always happy to meet in person or talk over the phone, this page is an attempt to answer some questions that you might have, and maybe get you thinking about new ideas that you may want to consider.
Frequently Asked Questions :
B Mitzvahs
How would you describe your photography style on the day of the event? I describe my style as generally "photojournalistic". In practice, I feel most comfortable sitting back and waiting for moments to happen - because it's a celebration, and people are together sharing moments worth capturing. During group/family photos and photos of your child at the bimah, I will often do some prompting and suggest poses if needed. Everyone is comfortable with a different degree of direction, and I like to try to find the right amount and tone of direction for everyone in the group. Throughout the event, my goal is always to get a good mix of formal and candid photos.
How many photos will we get in our gallery? This will vary from event to event, but a very rough average is about 50 images for every hour of coverage.
How long does it take to receive proofs and final images? I deliver .
photos within 3 weeks after the event, with a small “sneak peek” collection delivered within 3 days.
Are retouching, color adjustments and major editing included in your services? Color adjustments and edits happen to some small extent on every single photograph that I deliver. Major retouching is something that I CAN do, but tend to try my best to photograph in a way that makes it unnecessary - That said, I do not charge extra for the retouching that goes into my wedding galleries.
Do you require a deposit? I currently require a non-refundable $400 retainer fee upon signing a contract. This is a part of your overall balance, so it is NOT an extra fee on top of the full balance which means you pay less on the day of the event.
What forms of payment do you accept (credit card, cash, check)? I can accept checks, Venmo, cash or I can send an invoice payable by credit card.
Can we request specific shots we would like to have? Absolutely! I do my best to capture as many of the "standard" photos throughout the day , but I love the little things that make each event unique, so it's more important to me that I capture the things that YOU want captured. While my favorite words to hear before an event are “we trust you”, I am also always happy to take ideas and special requests into consideration.
